About Southlands

Southlands is based just a few minutes from central Guildford and offers livery, schooling and access to miles of bridleways.

5* Livery

Superb horse care from Sonia and her team. Large stables and sandy turnout in large fields.

Full and Part Time Livery Only. Please note that we do not offer DIY livery.

Indoor & outdoor Schools

International sized dressage arena with mirrors and an indoor school.

Hacking

Direct access via Downs Link to superb hacking around Blackheath, St Martha's and Farley Heath

Clinics

Sonia Mayne is a BHS registered Intermediate Instructor who offers private and group lessons at the Southlands dressage and jumping facilites or at local showjumping & XC courses.

Please note that you will need your own horse or pony for lessons.

Facilities at Southlands

Southlands has a permanent support team of grooms and groundsmen to ensure the facilities are kept in excellent condition.

Indoor & Outdoor Sandschools

  • International All Weather Dressage Arena with 5 arena mirrors
  • A 20mx40m indoor arena with 2 large arena mirrors and a viewing room perfect for the colder days
  • Schools regularly levelled.

Hacking

  • Direct access via Downs Link to superb hacking around Blackheath, St Martha's and Farley Heath.
  • Miles of sandy hacking with many gallop options.

Solarium

  • Perfect for warming up and preparing your horse's back muscles before exercise .
  • Another 15 mins after exercise helps to break down lactic acid.
  • Also useful for quickly drying wet or damp horses to avoid muscle damange, tightening up and chills.

Livery at Southlands

We have 22 generous stables and large turnout paddocks on sandy soil. Excellent care is given to all horses.

CLINICS

Sonia Mayne is a BHS registered Intermediate Instructor who has been lucky enough to train with numerous classical dressage trainers over the years. She started out Eventing and Show Jumping and has represented England (the Southern Team) in Dressage. She enjoys training people of all ages and levels in Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing, both on site at Southlands and at local cross country facilities such as Parwood, Coombelands and Tweseldown.

You will need your own horse or pony for lessons and clinics.
